How Pittsburgh Draft Guide ranked on Google in 3 days
500,000+ visitors were coming to Pittsburgh for the 2026 NFL Draft. Nobody had built a guide that actually showed up on Google. So I built one.

The problem
Pittsburgh was hosting the 2026 NFL Draft. Between 500,000 and 700,000 visitors were expected to flood the city over three days.
Every one of those visitors was going to Google the same things: where to park, where to eat, where to stay, what the schedule looks like.
But when you searched for those answers? Nothing useful came up. The city's official sites buried the info. Travel blogs hadn't caught on yet. There was no single place a visitor could go and get everything they needed.
Half a million people were about to Google "NFL Draft Pittsburgh" and nobody owned those search results.
What I built
A 20-page visitor guide at pittsburghdraftguide.com. Everything a visitor needs in one place.
The results
The site went live and started ranking on Google within 3 days. Not weeks. Not months. Days.
In the first week of promotion: 1,099 sessions, 2,223 pageviews, and a 3-minute average visit duration. People weren't just clicking. They were reading.
Reddit posts pulled 32,000+ views. A Canadian football podcast picked it up as their go-to travel resource for listeners heading to Pittsburgh.
81% of traffic came from mobile devices. Real people, on their phones, planning their trip.

Research, domain registration, site architecture. Every page mapped to a real search query visitors would use.
Content written for all 20 pages. Schema markup, meta tags, and internal linking built for Google from day one.
Live on Google. Ranking for multiple keywords. Traffic coming in from search, Reddit, and social.
