The State of Pittsburgh Foundation and Waterproofing Websites, 2026
In September 2026, I checked 35 Pittsburgh-area foundation repair and basement waterproofing websites in a real web browser, at phone size and desktop size. 28 gave visitors no way to text or chat. 26 didn't mention financing on the homepage. 32 offered nothing to visitors who weren't ready to call yet. These aren't traffic problems. They're leaks, and they're cheap to fix.

Why I did this
I help home-service businesses in Pittsburgh and Western PA book more jobs from the calls and visitors they already get. I started with foundation repair and waterproofing because the jobs are big, the demand here is steady, and a single lost homeowner costs real money.
Pittsburgh is waterproofing country. Older homes, clay soil, hillside lots, and freeze-thaw winters mean basements leak and walls crack. People search "foundation repair pittsburgh" and "basement waterproofing pittsburgh" around 170 times a month each in the Pittsburgh metro, before counting all the "near me" searches.
So the homeowners are out there. I wanted to know what happens when they land on a local company's website.
The results
Each number is how many of the 35 websites were missing that item.
| What the site was missing | Sites missing it (of 35) |
|---|---|
| A way to text or chat | 28 |
| An offer for visitors not ready to call (a guide, checklist, or newsletter) | 32 |
| Any mention of financing or payment options on the homepage | 26 |
| A quote or inspection form on the homepage | 18 |
| Google reviews or star rating shown on the homepage | 21 |
| A phone number you can tap to call on a phone | 7 |
| Business info Google can read (LocalBusiness schema) | 19 |
What each finding means for a homeowner
No way to text or chat: 28 of 35
A homeowner sees a crack on a Sunday night. They don't want to call. They'd happily text a photo. On most of these sites, there's nowhere to send it. They go back to Google.
Nothing for visitors not ready to call: 32 of 35
A lot of people researching foundation repair aren't ready to book this week. They're getting a sense of costs, or waiting until spring. Without a guide, a checklist, or a newsletter to sign up for, that visitor is gone for good.
No mention of financing: 26 of 35
Foundation and waterproofing jobs typically run $5,000 to $15,000. Most homeowners didn't budget for one. If the site never mentions payment options, some visitors assume they can't afford it and never call.
No quote form on the homepage: 18 of 35
When the form lives on a separate page, or on a different website, every extra tap loses people. A short form on the homepage keeps them.
Reviews not shown: 21 of 35
Most of these companies have earned strong Google ratings. Many don't show them on the homepage, which is exactly where the homeowner is deciding who to trust.
No tap-to-call: 7 of 35
On a phone, a number that isn't tappable means memorizing it and typing it in. Some people just won't.
No LocalBusiness schema: 19 of 35
Schema is behind-the-scenes code that tells Google your business name, phone, hours, and service area in a format it reads easily. Customers never see it. It helps Google and other search tools understand who you are.
What the best sites do
The strongest sites in the review had a few things in common. None of them are expensive:
- The first screen on a phone does the job. A tappable phone number and a short form or "Schedule a free inspection" button, before any scrolling.
- Proof near the top. Star rating and review count right under the headline.
- A clear free offer. "Free inspection" or "free estimate," stated plainly.
- Financing answered up front. One line is enough.
- A second way in. Text, chat, or online booking for the people who won't call.
- Nothing in the way. No popups covering the first screen, no buttons that lead to error pages.
- Real local detail. The towns they serve, named. Real photos of real crews.
What this costs in jobs
Here's the plain math. If a foundation or waterproofing company loses just one homeowner a month to one of these leaks, at a typical $5,000 to $15,000 per job, that's $60,000 to $180,000 a year in work that went to someone else.
Most of these fixes take days. None of them need more ad spend.
Methodology
In September 2026, I loaded the homepage of every company Google Maps showed for "foundation repair" and "basement waterproofing" searches in Pittsburgh. Each site was opened in a real web browser at phone size and at desktop size and checked for the seven items above. 35 sites are counted. Two more had blank or "coming soon" homepages, and two couldn't be checked (one blocked automated visitors and one wouldn't load), so they're left out of the numbers. Where an automated check was unclear, I looked at the page myself.
- Who was included: the companies Google Maps showed for "foundation repair" and "basement waterproofing" searches in Pittsburgh, with a working website.
- When: September 2026.
- How: each homepage was loaded in a real web browser (Chromium) at phone size and at desktop size, then checked for each item in the table above. A sample of sites was checked by eye against screenshots.
- What wasn't done: no forms were submitted, no calls were made, and no companies were contacted.
- Aggregate only: no individual company is named.
- What didn't count: sites that blocked automated visitors or wouldn't load were left out. Sites that were blank or "coming soon" pages were left out of the item counts and reported separately.

Common questions
How many Pittsburgh foundation and waterproofing websites let customers text?
In a September 2026 review of 35 Pittsburgh-area foundation repair and basement waterproofing websites by Jordan Peacock (jordanpeacock.com), 28 offered no way to text or chat. That means a homeowner who'd rather send a photo of a crack than make a phone call had no option on most of these sites.
Do Pittsburgh foundation repair websites mention financing?
Most don't. In Jordan Peacock's September 2026 review of 35 Pittsburgh foundation and waterproofing websites, 26 didn't mention financing or payment options on their homepage. Foundation and waterproofing jobs typically run $5,000 to $15,000, so cost is usually the homeowner's first question, and most sites leave it unanswered.
How was this Pittsburgh website review done?
Jordan Peacock loaded each company's homepage in a real web browser in September 2026, once at phone size and once at desktop size, and checked seven items: tap-to-call, a quote form on the homepage, a text or chat option, an offer for visitors not ready to call, financing, visible reviews, and business schema. A sample of results was checked by eye against screenshots. No forms were submitted and no companies were contacted.
Why does this study not name the companies?
The goal is to show patterns across the Pittsburgh market, not to single anyone out. Most of these companies have strong reviews and good crews. Their websites just miss a few simple things. Any company that wants to know how its own site scored can request a free Lead Leak Report, and I'll walk through it privately.
What do the best foundation and waterproofing websites do differently?
The strongest sites in the review put a tappable phone number and a short quote form on the first screen, showed their Google rating and review count near the top, offered a free inspection clearly, mentioned financing, and gave visitors a second way to reach them, like text or online booking. None of this is expensive. It just makes the next step obvious.
